What can we scan?

Musculoskeletal ultrasound in the right hands can detect a plethora of conditions and help build a picture of the health of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints

Common indications for a scan

  • Suspicion of tendon/ligament/muscle injury or tear

  • Assessment of swelling

  • Restricted movement 

  • Joint instability

  • Repetitive strain

  • Slow recovery following injury

Areas We Scan:

  • ​Arms, shoulders and elbows

  • Hips, knees and legs

  • Hands, wrists and fingers

Common conditions we can detect

  • Muscle, tendon, ligament strains/tears

  • Tendinopathies (Previously termed tendonitis) such as "tennis or golfers" elbow, "Jumpers knee"

  • Bursitis (such as "Housemaids knee", "bakers cysts"

  • Plantar fasciitis AKA "policemans heel"
